ProLife Fitness Centre

Description:

I was first inclined to try out Prolife Fitness Centre in Paisley due to its Japanese bath which interested me. I had previously been to gyms that offered spa facilities such as saunas and steam rooms however I had never heard of a Japanese bath before. When I first arrived, I was surprised to see how well kitted out the gym was as I was expecting a pretty basic gym. Prolife Fitness spans over 2 floors and offers a wide selection of high-end Hammer Strength and Cybex machines. It also has a unique leg dedicated room called the ’Xxtra Leg Room’ filled with top of the range leg machines. It also includes a boxing area with multiple types of boxing bags, a large car park and even a creche for members with children. As impressive as the gym is, the main highlight from my experience at Prolife was definitely the spa facilities. The usual spa facilities include a high-end Swedish sauna and steam room which are accompanied by a variety of cold showers and the Japanese bath. The Japanese bath is a large pool that is filled with warm water that helps you relax and is said to aid sleep. These are perfect to aid with recovery and help you rest after an intense workout. The facilities were all clean and obviously well maintained which I feel is important for spa facilities. I couldn’t fault the spa facilities however, one of the downsides to the gym is some equipment is dated. The gym does offer a wide array of machines and free weights but some of these are quite old and have some severe signs of wear and tear such as rust and marks. This may appeal to some lifters who like the ‘old school’ feel that it brings but it does make the gym look outdated which may not appeal to other lifters.
